Russia-born Marina Dobrovolskaia moved to Frederick, Maryland, in 1998 with a master’s and a doctorate in hand. Today, she is well on her way toward earning an MBA from Hood and is a principal scientist with the National Cancer Institute’s Nanotechnology Characterization Laboratory in Frederick.

Marina says her MBA studies at Hood have helped improve her ā€œunderstanding of how to manage projects and teams, establish and manage international collaborations, [and] motivate people….ā€  She has found that the ā€œface-to-face interaction with the faculty and classmates is what adds a unique flavor to this program and provides more benefits than reading textbooks or studying on-line.ā€ As a bonus, the coursework and class discussion encourages her to broaden her vocabulary in English.

Marina was recently featured in a ā€œSlice of Lifeā€ profile in the Frederick News-Post. Read more about Marina and her work .
